Walking

For walking enthusiasts there is a variety of planned walks to be enjoyed, such as Adventure, Hill, Cliff, Town and Seashore Walks.

The cliffs at Ballybunion were designed by nature with walker in mind! Here you can enjoy the walk of a life time along the cliff edge as nature allows you to come face to face with the might of the Atlantic Ocean. There is no better way to 'taste' the air in Ballybunion than from the cliff tops. It has been said by the illustrious Joseph Locke that the air is so fresh and sweet - it is just like champagne! and of course, Ballybunion is a photographers dream with the longest daylight hours in Western Europe and the longest sunsets.

Fishing

Explore the fishing waters around Ballybunion. From the Long Strand you can enjoy sea fishing as its best where a variety of species are in abundance.

Watch the local fishermen using traditional net fishing techniques (dating back over 2,000 years) on the Cashen River.

Festivals

Ballybunion hosts two fun-filled festivals - The International Bachelor Festival ( July ) and the Busking Festival ( August ).
